Attention Grateful Dead Fans --- The Vintage Reserve at Pristine Auctions is  proud to present this beautiful 1975 Ibanez Professional Series 2681 Bob Weir Signature Pre-Production Model.  This is the Holy Grail of Ibanez Bob Weir Models as it is a one owner very limited Pre-Production piece that was sold  to my client directly by Hoshino because he was in a Grateful Dead tribute band that performed not far from Hoshino headquarters in PA. This was purchased before the 1976 model was released to the general public.  This has all the hard to find options on this guitar and then some. First there is NO SERIAL NUMBER ! Next, this model also has a pair of original Super 70's pickups with EMBOSSED Ibanez Covers !   On the back of the neck the Made in Japan and Super 70's stickers are still present. The rest of the instrument seems to follow suit with the 1976 model year.   This a true rare vintage piece form Ibanez that is now 50 years old. She is in in 100% Original Condition.  

We have it listed as Very Good Condition.  This instrument has been gigged off and on for decades. It is a one owner instrument.   It is 50 years old so there are a few dings, but it presents really clean for its age.  The most noticeable thing is that there was another strap button hole drilled in the back of the instrument.  The strap button currently resides there leaving the strap button hole on the upper horn.  There is some cracks in the binding in the upper horns.. again, this is 50 years old and has been played and enjoyed . 

She was just given a fresh professional set up with Ernie Ball 10 Gauge Electric Guitar  Strings. It was given a fret polish because it sat around and  the original frets do show some mild wear. The frets are jumbo so the fret wear does not affect play at all.  Again, the frets are original and all of the fret nibs are sill in tact.     It plays effortless up and down the Ebony Fret board.  Will ship professionally packed and fully insured.   The original hard shell case did not survive from touring. Because of the size of the head stock, it does not fit a standard electric guitar case.  We will include a Breedlove Deluxe padded Gig bag to ensure this instrument safely ships to its new home.
