however there is a scratchy sound in my headphones which goes away a bit as I turn up the gain. First time I've checked out one of these neodynium magnet mics, seems to have a bit more presence than the ordinary dynamic...
The inner support band of the windscreen is deteriorating, I would bet a piece has fallen in blocking the diaphragm, so a bit of maintenance may be order to the screen and cartridge interior, before being put into constant service.
