The "Optimized Illusion" by Cowtown 3D Prints - The Optimal Electric Guitar, 3D printed with Real Wood and Carbon Fiber

This is a one-of-a-kind, custom-designed electric guitar, built and 3D printed in Fort Worth, TX. More than just an instrument, it’s a piece of functional art.

The "Optimized Illusion" gets its name from the structurally optimized wooden accent piece running along the left side and from the optical illusion printed into pickguard. The combination of the two gives the guitar a strangely organic look and feel despite the design being derived from a mathematical simulation called topology optimization. It may just look like a sick design... but don't be fooled, this guitar body is the optimal blend of strength, rigidity, and weight.

Details:

Body Construction: The body is a fully custom Jaguar/Jazz-master inspired body shape. The white core pieces are printed in carbon fiber filament for strength and rigidity, while the side accent is printed in a wood-fiber infused filament that feels just like real wood. Steel reinforcement rods run from the neck pocket to the bridge, adding rigidity to eliminate warping and adding weight to eliminate neck dive. An acrylic panel under the bridge and control plate ties in perfectly with the core and gives the front a perfectly smooth finish. The pickguard blends the white core into the copper accent piece which matches the control cavity cover on the back as well.

Electronics: Fender licensed Squier Telecaster pickups deliver a beautiful tonal range—from warm, rich neck tones to the classic Telecaster twang in the bridge.

Neck & Hardware: A Fender licensed Squier Stratocaster neck made of maple. Silver tuners complement the silver bridge, knobs and input jack.
