Description

The Ibanez RG7420 Standard 7-string electric guitar is built for both speed and strength. Part of the iconic RG series honed over decades to be a high-performance metal machine, the RG7420 offers unlimited playability for the most demanding players. With its slim 3-piece maple Wizard II neck, jumbo frets on a jatoba fingerboard and Quantum humbucking pickups, the Ibanez RG7420 provides exceptional precision and articulation even during the most intense high-speed riffing.

Shred With Ease Using the Slim, Fast Maple Wizard II Neck

The thin, flat Wizard II neck on the RG7420 is designed for speed. Constructed from 3 pieces of maple, it provides strength while remaining slim and comfortable. The smoothly finished back allows for fast movement up and down the neck when you want to shred at blazing tempos. The heel is sculpted for easy access to higher notes on all 7 strings. Overall, the Wizard II neck offers unlimited playability for even the most demanding guitarists.

Glide Along the Fingerboard With Jumbo Frets

The fingerboard on the RG7420 is constructed from beautiful reddish-brown jatoba, which produces a rich, crisp tone. It is outfitted with jumbo-sized frets, allowing for smooth transitions between notes and easy bending. The generous height of the frets makes the RG7420 ideal for fast soloing and single-note riffing. You'll be able to play intricate lines cleanly and accurately.

Get Crushing Tones From the Quantum Humbucking Pickups

This 7-string guitar comes equipped with a pair of Quantum humbucking pickups that deliver the tight, aggressive tones needed for extreme metal. The bridge pickup provides crushing midrange and articulate high-end for aggressive riffing, while the neck pickup delivers a clear, yet thick lead tone. A 5-way switch gives you access to a wide range of tones from clean to distorted.

Lock Into Tune Using the Edge-Zero II Bridge

The RG7420 features an Edge-Zero II bridge, designed for stability and playing comfort. It has a lower profile than traditional double-locking tremolos, improving ergonomics. The stud lock function keeps the strings locked tightly in tune, even during heavy use of the whammy bar. Dial in your preferred tuning and rely on the Edge-Zero II to keep you there through long practice sessions and intense live shows.
