Brand: Yamaki

Model: F-150

The stamp of this guitar has disappeared over time, so there is no 150 mark anymore but based on the previous owner’s claim, cross checked with online sources and with my own knowledge about owning a Yamaki F-150, this one is an F-150.

Specs:

Top: Solid Spruce

B/S: Jacaranda

No hard case

Condition:

The guitar is in very good condition. With very few scratches and dings on the body. There might be some minor imperfections that I have missed but all in all it is in good condition. I have shown them the best I can, on the pictures. Action is good at approximately 2.7mm on the 6th string and 2.4mm on the first at the 12th fret, might change because of humidity. This guitar is almost in excellent condition except that the previous owner for some reason shaved the bridge plate, I have shown them on the pictures.  As a result I believe it weakened the structure of the bridge plate and so when I put the strings in full tension the bridge would show a hairline crack. It can be played no doubt, but I strongly suggest you have the bridge plate replaced with a luthier. I also replaced the saddle with compensated cow-bone because the one that came with it was in bad condition.

Description:

I know there are people out there who are looking for a Yamaki F-150. I myself have secured one for my collection because they are really a rare and awesome guitar. They have a certain feel that screams “Vintage!” Japanese guitar. It feels great and fun to play, and built magnificently. I bought this guitar with that thought in mind, that someone will actually need or want it. I am planning to have the bridge replaced to restore it to optimum condition, but it takes months for it to be fixed in Japan, and I don’t have time that much as well for now. So I am selling this at a significantly lower price to compensate for the bridge plate replacement. I am also willing to negotiate the price so as long as it is reasonable. The Yamaki F-150 is really a rare guitar and you can’t find much of these in great condition, so take this opportunity and grab this guitar while it is available. I am also listing this in other sites here in Japan, but don’t worry I update the listing as soon as it sells. Feel free to message me if you need further details.

Important note:

This guitar has been in storage for a long time before I got it, and I have not had it checked with a luthier. I have many vintage guitars and I play all of them, but I strongly suggest that you have a professional check it first, because although these made in Japan guitars are built like tanks, I just want to set your expectations so your experience is great. This is a 50 year old guitar after all. The specs, I got are from online sources so you may want to cross check it to be sure. The ones I sell are usually very rare and information about it are sometimes hard to find.

I can vouch that this guitar sounds great, and I can show you a video of how it sounds and plays, if you are really interested to buy it. I intend to post videos on youtube in the near future, but since I have a busy schedule I provide videos for decided buyers in the meantime.

I want to make sure you, the buyer will have no surprises, when you get the guitar.  I definitely would prefer not to sell a guitar than have a bad review, integrity for me is paramount. That being said, please ask all the questions you need before buying, and check the pictures carefully, I used a professional grade camera to take pictures of the guitar so I can show everything that there is to see about the guitar. Please don’t hesitate to ask for more pictures of certain angles if you need them. I will respond ASAP.

I am open to negotiations if reasonable. Don’t hesitate to ask.
