Provenance & Craftsmanship
Each body was made from premium lumber hand-selected by a boutique luthier, who personally sourced and transported the wood to a professional shop in New Jersey for shaping. Specifications were tailored to his own playing preferences, making them compatible with standard hardware while offering a refined feel and build quality not found in mass-produced bodies. For example, the Cap or top of the bass bodies is much thicker then 1/8th inch. (Often the standard in available bass bodies.) The thicker top allows for more complex tones and frequencies. A thicker cap also shows more of the beautiful wood grains from the side view of the bass.
This new old stock (NOS) Offset bass body features a highly figured flamed Crotched American Cherry top over a swamp ash core.
This gorgeous cherry top is a very rare find. As most exotic woods are getting more difficult to acquire, these aged bodies are become much more unique, rare, and valuable. This body is most likely from the 1980s and 1990 era. A work of art.
Wood Type & Grain
Love, love, love this exotic and rare pattern. It’s stunning, visually aesthetically.
Top: The bookmatched cherry top displays exceptional flame and depth. This particular body has a Figured crotched American cherry cap with a striking feathered/bookmatched grain pattern. This is a highly desired and unusual pattern.
Back: 2-piece swamp ash, matched for grain pattern and tonal balance. Swamp ash is valued for its bright, resonant tone and strong low end.
