The 2025 trade show limited edition Sakura guitar from the STD series features an impressive summer-inspired design. Celebrating its 10th anniversary last year, the Sakura guitar continues to evolve beautifully under the policy of conveying the charm of cherry blossoms in both sound and appearance by using actual domestically produced cherry wood.

[A refreshing blue body color inspired by the blue sea]

The natural blue hue evokes a cool, calming impression, while the pearl finish changes color depending on the angle, creating a sophisticated presence. The design strikes a balance between subtlety and playfulness, leaving a lasting impression.

The swallow heralds the lingering beauty of cherry blossoms and the beginning of summer

[Swallow family on the headstock]

The swallow, a familiar spring migratory bird to the Japanese, was chosen as the design motif. It is also a bird with ties to Headway, and the late Master Builder Yasuo Momose looked forward to the swallows visiting his workshop every spring. This design, which focuses on the master's legacy and the subtle beauty of Japanese landscapes, creates a guitar that tells a story through its entire design.

[Cherry Blossom Inlay on the Fingerboard]

Cherry blossom-shaped inlays adorn the fingerboard, adding beauty to the design. The design also considers playability, ensuring that switching from a guitar with standard position marks feels natural.

[Cherry Blossom-Shaped Pickguard]

The cherry blossom-shaped pickguard, made from purpleheart wood, symbolizes the cherry blossom guitar. It remains unchanged from the first guitar made, serving as a testament to Headway's cherry blossom guitar.

[Yamazakura (mountain cherry) sides and back]

The sides and back are made from Yamazakura (mountain cherry) sourced domestically in Japan. This wood has a very hard texture with a peak in the low-mid range, yet it produces the sweet sound characteristic of cherry wood.

[34 Semi-Forward Shifted Bracing]

Headway Master Builder Yasuo Momose studied the bracing of a 1934 vintage guitar and developed his own unique bracing system. The X-shaped cross position is shifted slightly forward toward the soundhole, resulting in better low-end response and a more voluminous sound compared to a standard guitar. The design also considers the stability of the top plate, with the bracing shifted approximately 5mm closer to the bridge than a forward-shifted bracing system.
