This is a 1972 Fender Bass VI Translucent Blonde SPECIAL. It is complete with its original white/black pick guard (slight shrinking, but no cracks) and a tortoise shell pick guard purchased around 2003. The guitar was serviced by Jeff Benge in Chicago who replaced the foam under the pickups, added a maple neck shim to adjust the neck angle as well as a bridge shim for the low E making the guitar a joy to play and chord. Jeff also removed the old mute and suggested options on what could be used to replace it. The tremolo and bridge cover are original.
Rosewood finger board, block inlays and frets are all in good condition with some wear.
This guitar has the 4 switches including the 'strangle' low cut switch allowing it to have surfy, fumpy, baritone tones that let you go from crew cut ventures to full on goth cure. It wants to play melodies and it wants to bend the notes like my bloody valentine.
The G&G case was purchased around 2003 and is in great condition.
Non-smoker owned and enjoyed. Kept in its case, not on a stand.
