For your collection I'm parting with my classic Vintage Charvel Made in Japan. Note I originally listed this a year ago then changed my mind and took it down this guitar had not been on Reverb for a year. Like a classic corvette with side pipes this rock machine will take you back to the glory of 80s sunset strip. Model 475 either special or deluxe I’m not sure which. This guitar originally had active electronics that were in failing poor condition so they were replaced with a complete set of passive Dimarzio pickups that match each other perfectly and sound terrific: Classic Dimarzio PAF Pro in the Bridge and Dimarzio Chopper dual blade single coil size humbuckers in the neck and middle positions. UPDATE: I will include a Dimarzio Super Distortion pickup you can try if you find the installed PAF Pro not to your liking. Volume pot was replaced with a 500k speed pot I think Duncan YJM I'll verify. Wired for one tone control only the other is not connected. Neck is fantastic with no resemblance to modern Charvels, it's a uniform flat radius and overall shape feels great in your hand uniquely shaped with the perfect balance of heft and sleekness. Jumbo frets are in good shape and despite a couple dips from string wear it plays perfectly with no buzz, neck perfectly straight. Worth buying for the vintage German Steel Floyd Rose trem alone! Guitar really shows its stuff into high gain amps with clarity and attitude to spare. 22 fret neck keeps the neck pickup in the proper place right under a harmonic node for vocal bluesy tone compared to the weird hollow tone you get in 24 fret necks. There is a tiny split at the pointy end of the head stock and a small crack in the paint only near the heal. All in all good condition for a piece of metal history that is probably around 35 years old. More pictures available upon request, the sparkle pearl white finish looks fantastic in person in especially in bright light, the Dinky size body and contour is uber comfortable and looks especially cool on those of us less than 6 feet tall.
