Catalinbread Adineko Ghost (Oil Can Delay) - Analog Delay Pedal with Reverb Octave FX for Guitarists

The Adineko Ghost is a haunting evolution of Catalinbread’s classic oil can delay pedal. Inspired by vintage units known for their swirling, warbly echoes, it adds a new Ghost control that introduces a filtered upper-octave effect into the delay path. This creates everything from subtle shimmer to wild, glitchy textures.

It features dual delay lines (short and long) that can be blended with the Balance knob for rich, layered sound. The Blend control adjusts the wet/dry mix, while the Timing sets the delay length. The Reverb knob acts as a feedback control, ranging from gentle repeats to chaotic self-oscillation.

Perfect for vintage slapback, ambient soundscapes, or experimental tones, the Adineko Ghost offers a unique and expressive delay experience.

Ghost Control (Filtered Octave Modulation)

The Adineko Ghost features a unique Ghost control that introduces a heavily filtered upper-octave signal into the delay path. This allows the user to add everything from subtle spectral shimmer to extreme, glitchy modulation. As the Ghost knob is turned up, clean delay repeats become transformed into eerie digital textures that resemble bleeps, bloops, and haunting overtones.

Dual Delay Lines with Balance Control

The pedal incorporates two delay lines—one short and one long—that run in parallel. The Balance control allows blending between the two, offering flexible tonal shaping. Turning the Balance knob fully counter-clockwise isolates the short delay, while turning it fully clockwise emphasizes the long delay. Setting the control at the center blends both for a full, immersive delay effect with enhanced spatial depth.

Reverb (Feedback) Control

Labeled as Reverb, this control functions as a traditional feedback knob. It adjusts how many times the delay signal repeats. At lower settings, users get clear and short echoes. As the control is increased, repeats become more intense and can eventually push the circuit into self-oscillation, enabling the creation of ambient swells or experimental soundscapes.

Blend Control (Wet/Dry Mix)

The Blend knob controls the ratio between the dry guitar signal and the delayed signal. This provides precise control over how present or subtle the effect is in the overall sound. Whether a user prefers a clean tone with just a touch of delay or a fully saturated effect for ambient playing, the Blend control allows seamless integration.

Timing Control

The Timing knob adjusts the delay time, ranging from short slapback echoes to long, drawn-out repeats. This gives the user full control over the rhythmic and atmospheric qualities of the delay. The Timing function remains independent of the Ghost modulation, allowing consistent tempo while layering in texture.

True Analog Oil Can Delay Emulation

Inspired by vintage oil can delay units, the Adineko Ghost faithfully recreates the analog warmth, subtle modulation, and mechanical character of these rare and unusual devices. It preserves the essence of the original while expanding its capabilities through the addition of the Ghost modulation.

Power and Build

The Adineko Ghost operates on a standard 9 to 18-volt DC center-negative power supply. It is compact, measuring 1.96 by 2.36 by 4.33 inches, and it weighs only 0.4 pounds. Handcrafted by Catalinbread in Portland, Oregon, the pedal reflects the company’s commitment to boutique-quality construction and innovative sound design.
