Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a older early 1950's era Atlas MS-12C "Standard" microphone floor stand built in Brooklyn, NY and was the entry level model in the Atlas Corp line up. It has the classic deco two tier "waterfall" cast iron painted base with dual chrome adjustable risers. The MS-12C was a high quality, rugged design and was sold by Atlas for several decades and is still being sold today though the new ones I believe have been made in China for about 20 or 30 years. This is the harder to find 1st generation American model.

The MS-12C only had this two tier base for about 5 or 10 years before it was changed to the design you see today having a flatter single tier rounded base.

Pic # 2 is from an old 1950's era Atlas catalog showing this very mic stand and it's basic characteristics. The MS-12C will compliment any older mic you have but you can use this with any screw on type mic and any mic clip you choose to use.

The MS-12C is appx 12 pounds in weight and had an adjustable height of 35 inches low to 65 inches tall giving you more than enough height to work with. It makes for a fairly stable floor stand but if you have a heavier larger mic like a Shure 55 or RCA 77DX then I would suggest using the similar but larger Atlas MS-20 model with the wider, heavier base.

This stand shows typical lite wear but it's still in very good overall condition.

The chrome on the upper riser has just lite scratches. The lower chrome riser is even nicer and still has the original Atlas sticker despite years of use. The clutch mechanism to lower the top riser works accordingly and in very nice condition. The cast iron base is in pretty good with original dark grey paint but you can see there are spots of corrosion. No fractures however.

Usually the top of the base looks better than the bottom but this stand is the opposite. The bottom of the base shows very lite rust stains. The 3 original felts pads are still present and show almost no wear.

Again, this stand will accept any screw on mic or mic clip you have.

Overall this stand is an easy 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10. I'm very picky though. Others would probably find it much nicer.

Due to recent price increases at the Postal Service I cannot ship this for any less than stated.

I do combine shipping which will save a lot of money if you plane on buying multiple items or more stands.

As with all my vintage microphones and stands...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The return shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. BUYER MUST PAY WITHIN 24 HOURS or will lose rights to this item, unpaid item report will be filed and will be re-listed. If you don't intend on buying this...do not commit to buy please. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
