This all-original example is vintage Fender through and through: distinctive tone, funky character, and unmistakable style, wrapped in authentic 1970s mojo.

Tone & Feel

The 1978 Mustang is known for its crisp, jangly cleans, snappy mids, and excellent percussive attack — ideal for surf, punk, alt-rock, or indie tones. The dual single-coil pickups combined with the phase switching options provide a wide palette of classic Fender tones, from glassy and bright to gritty and raw.

The 24-inch scale and slim C neck profile offer comfortable playability, especially for players with smaller hands or fans of short-scale feel.
