We are big fans of Neil Ivison’s design that brings the iconic tone of a Firebird into a well-balanced and exceedingly comfortable Junior-esque body shape. The critical structure that makes a Firebird sound the way it does, namely the pickups and neck-through construction, are preserved in this unique, functional, and more well-balanced architecture. The aesthetic is minimalist but maintains certain automotive and even Art Deco elements that inspired the Golden Era of guitar building. Simply put, the Dakota One delivers a wonderfully raw and unique Korina with a single Freebird (Firebird) pickup tone. Some players argue that a single pickup format allows the strings to vibrate more freely due to the reduced downward magnetic pull vs. multiple pickup formats. Whether you’re on board with that assertion or not, this Dakota One really resonates. At just 6.6 lbs, this one is easy on the back too. Good luck putting this down!
