- Newly installed RCA ribbon
- Well-built bidirectional ribbon microphone - Incredible Bass Response
- Comes with RCA thread size stand adapter for use with modern stands
For sale is a beautiful Aiwa VM-15 ribbon microphone that was modeled after the RCA 77. Back in the 1960s, Aiwa and other Japanese companies took inspiration from RCA. This microphone was one of those, pretty evident from the design choices, and the ribbon motor design! These mics are well-built, and the transformer in this one is low impedance at 600 ohms, which is what you want. The bass response on the VM-15 is incredible from a quantity aspect and great for sound sources like drums, anywhere you want huge bass!
Functionally speaking, this microphone will need zero work in the near future. In terms of wear, I'd say the wear is limited, so this one was kept pretty clean (feel free to judge based on the pictures) and the silk screens are nice!
If you wanted an RCA microphone or just want to try something from Japan that was made to compete with the big boys... this is the microphone for you!
