This is a 1970 Gibson chrome-plated es 175 tailpiece. Solid brass and chrome plated. Structurally and cosmetically this is a beautiful example of the 1970 "new" tailpiece that emerged in that year (following the zig zag style). This is a nice example with no issues -- The hinge is solid....No breaks or repairs. The chrome is in good shape with some very light normal handling wear. A fine / light scratch is visible on the hinge piece...see pics. Hinge is in perfect structural condition. Assembly and tooling style are correct for the 1970 ear (see screws on the reverse side of the string bar).

Really nice natural relic vibe…great for a project or restoration. Use it on a Gibson es-175 or L7 or ANY archtop where you need a high quality tailpiece that doesn't express a particualr brand.
