Late 40’s/Early 50’s Newcomb E-10A, fully converted to Guitar/Harp amplifier by Connor Moore at Moore Analog. The amp is built following the original circuit, only slightly modified for use as an instrument amplifier.
This item is extremely rare, and thus, priced accordingly. A thousand times less common than the higher wattage heads from Newcomb. Odds of finding one of these original speakers and cab are slim to none, one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Collector’s value fits that of the OG Masco PA head variety.
Power On/Tone Control
Mid Freq Control
Volume Control
Variable NFB trimpot under the hood that really lets this little thing open up at lower volumes, or tighten up when you’re flooring it.
4, 8, and 16 ohm out, and included, is the original Newcomb 10” speaker and cabinet with matching serial number. Glued up and re-lacquered to bring it a second chance at life. Make no mistake, this is a newly reliable and lightweight mid-sized amp that is truly one of a kind.
Could use a contemporary speaker to really push volume, but the current original “Newcomb Dynamic Reproducer” allows for the head to fit nicely into the cab, and works wonderfully for dirty slide guitar or crispy blues harp. Although a little tired looking due to its age, the speaker delivers beautiful tone from an age long since passed.
This listing is essentially a three-in-one collector’s dream with the original Head, Speaker, and Cabinet.
You don’t see rigs like this very often for good reason, this little guy is monstrously cool and has somehow made it this far with its original speaker and cab. Smells incredible when powered up and singing. Tone like nothing else I’ve had in the stable.
My loss is your gain. Get it over with, and thank me later. Hop on it before I change my mind.
Open to trades/reasonable offers.
