Noble & Cooley Alloy Classic Series Snare Drum

Highly Evolved

Noble and Cooley has made three separate and distinct metal snare drums. The original limited edition Zildjian Alloy Snare was the brainchild of Noble & Cooley and the Zildjian Cymbal Co. Built using the secret Zildjian alloy materials, it has become one of the most prized drums in the collector’s market. Since metal snare drums have been popular with drummers for decades, we realized the demand for the drum meant it was time to add an in-house “Alloy Classic” to our line of high-end snare drums. Made of cast aluminum, and one of our most highly regarded products, this versatile drum is owned and used regularly by some of the biggest names in the drum world. And in 2019, we began offering a limited run of the Copper Classic in a 6” and 8” depth for drummers looking for a dryer tone with a sharp attack.

Currently, we are offering our 14” Alloy Classic as the go-to metal snare of choice for drummers.

Cast Aluminum

The Alloy Classic is built of cast aluminum, as opposed to rolled sheet metal, or sliced from tubing. This process gives the drum a porous shell, resulting in denser sound. By tuning the heads high, the drum still maintains the "crack" or "pop" of a metal drum, while looser tunings give way to the warmness more commonly associated with a wood shell.

Consistency

The Alloy Classic shell is machined after casting. The bearing edge and shell dimensions are kept to a tight tolerance, while lathing and CNC machining produce a drum of incredible consistency.

Size

Standard sizes for Alloy Classics are 14” diameter, available in depths of 4.75” and 6”. This listing is for a 6x14".

Finish

Available in raw with a protective coat and black powder coated. This listing is for raw with protective coating. This series also allows for Special Order of custom color options; contact us to see Noble & Cooley's beautiful catalog of drum finishes.

Hardware

Come standard with our double post tube lug hardware in black or chrome plating. Brass tube hardware available as an upgrade. This listing is for standard chrome double post tube lug hardware.

Rims

All snare drums come standard with triple flanged rims in either chrome or black. Brass hoops, Die cast hoops, and wood hoops available as an upgrade. This listing is for standard chrome triple flanged rims.

N&C Brand

Alloy Classic snare drums come standard with the black oval badge.
