NAMM Shows used to be a BIG thing for Gibson, but toward the end of the Henry J era, Gibson stopped showing up to them. In 2019 they returned under NEW OWNERSHIP and brought some real showstoppers! This is the R9 that everyone was drooling over at this historically significant show and is in the arguably best new finish "factory burst" with a stellar top. It is the 70th anniversary model too!
If you're unfamiliar with how the public can get NAMM display pieces - dealers have to WIN them in a random drawing and then you have to be first to find what dealer got it and pay them however much $$$ they want for it. Needless to say, you can't always find your favorite... The popular pieces go for insane premiums, especially for historically significant shows like 2019.

I've bought and sold this one a few times. Odds are, I'll probably buy/trade you again for it in the future but for now I'd like to throw some money around into some other adventures.
I call this one "The Return of Gibson R9"
Condition wise - a previous owner remove the NAMM sticker on the back of the headstock - but I put it back on (mild peeling up in a few areas.) It was played at NAMM show it isn't perfect, but it isn't trashed either. It has significant binding bleed as most of these do
If you're a NAMM Show piece collector - this is a must have.
