Selling an extremely rare, 96-97 Gibson Les Paul Custom “Florentine Diamond Sparkle”. This Is a very short lived run of guitars and I personally only know of a few examples - one being Noel Gallaghers Silver Sparkle Diamond Florentine. The Florentine/Bantam models were Gibsons first real weight relieved, chambered les pauls. They are a much different instruments than the later semi hollow “ES” Les Paul’s. This particular version of the Florentine known as the “Diamond Sparkle” model, features a metallic flaked, sparkle finish, as well as two Diamond shaped sound holes like you’d traditionally see on a Trini Lopez model. This guitar has remained in very good condition but has two big changes. The tuners have been changed with locking schallers, and a bigsby has been installed in place of the stock tailpiece. The sparkle finish exhibits weather checking which is pretty common on these sparkle finishes. The guitar plays extremely well with a perfect 50’s feeling neck and frets showing minimal wear. The early PAF 57 classics paired with the resonant body, provides more warmth than you’d find in a regular run Les Paul. These were very expensive instruments in the mid 90’s ($6800+) and from an early era in the Gibson Custom Shop. The “good wood” era is really living up to its name with this spectacular instrument. Includes the quality hard shell case shown. Please message me with any questions. thanks
