JOHN MCGEOCH'S CARVIN DC-135C - Early 1990s

- Complete with original Carvin hard case and John's case contents -

*** Bought directly from John's daughter Emily, this has been cherished. ***

From the time of acquisition:

"Hi there my name is Emily McGeoch. My father is the late John McGeoch of Siouxie and the Banshees, P.I.L., Magazine, The Armoury Show and Visage. When he died I inherited a lot of memorabilia and stage clothes. I however cannot use them and would prefer them to go to a home where John is remembered as a musician not a father."

My admiration for John McGeoch began when I first saw Magazine on TV. It has never diminished.

As the years pass his legacy only continues to grow. A brief glance at his career and the careers of those he influenced says it all.

This Guitar...

Has been cared for about as well as any guitar could be. Temperature and humidity control plus great respect. It's only ever been played (lightly) at home.

The original Carvin HC-10 case and its contents which came directly from Emily McGeoch are also all intact - John's strap, a Carvin pick and some Ernie Ball strings.

It also comes with an original framed colour photo of John playing the guitar circa 1996. (Taken out of the frame for these photos).

I believe John had an endorsement deal with Carvin dating from his time with P.I.L.

This is the DC-135C model - the C standing for the Carvin/Floyd tremolo unit. The penultimate photo is a Carvin museum advert page with the full specs.

You can see John playing an identical model in the official P.I.L. promo for 'Disappointed'.

In Summary...

It has just had a full pro setup. New strings, super low action, Floyd adjusted and fully ready to play or display - or both, as you prefer.

Everything shown in the photos is included.

It would be a pleasure to pass this guitar on to someone else who appreciates John McGeoch and his legacy.

A Note On Shipping:

We want you to be fully satisfied with everything - from the item itself (naturally!) through the shipping, packaging, communication etc.

Of course there is nothing we can do about customs duty, local taxes etc at your end. But we can keep the overall price as competitive as is decently possible.

The Japan post office service (EMS) is reliable and efficient but shipping costs from Japan to Europe or the states are unavoidably expensive.

For this reason none of the shipping costs we quote reflect the actual price we have to pay. We are more than willing to take a hit on that to make things as attractive for you as possible.

Vintage Instruments & Equipment

Shipping by air plus climatic changes can affect how a guitar is set up - no matter how well it is packed. Consequently there is no guarantee that an instrument arrives with exactly the same set up as stated. After a period of acclimatisation, you may still need to make any adjustments at your own expense.
