This is a special bass for me. My love for the Grateful Dead runs deep, so two years ago, I decided to create my own iconic Alembic model and opted for the Series I. Fully handmade, It's a short-scale instrument that is ultra comfortable to play. The neck is kinda fat like a vintage one.
This bass has accompanied me on many adventures and always stands out on stage, catching everyone's eye. The body is made of mahogany, and the neck is constructed with a "hippie sandwich" of 10-year-old maple and mahogany.
It features passive ceramic pickups with classic 2-tone/2-volume/3-way switch wiring, making it straightforward and easy to use. For those who don’t know Alembic, it's renowned for its sophisticated electronics with active pickups, so I might consider an upgrade, as there are already slots for additional components. Weight is around 2.5 kg, and the Grateful Dead logo adds an extra cool factor.
