Item:
Offering a professionally refurbished Vintage 1960’s Premier 90 Reverberation effects unit w her original foot switch.
Summary:
Multivox Corporation of America was a relatively short lived, yet highly influential American gear company that produced effects, amplifiers, guitars, and more, & based in NYC, NY.
One of the most coveted is this unit; the Premier 90. Considered to be a bit of a rival to the Fender Tube Reverb box of the time. While most early reverbs of the period had very similar character, Multivox decided to try something different. The Premier model featured a clever circuit with a solid-state rectifier, which enhances the tube’s character and makes it extra ideal for harmonica/harp players, in particular. Premier Reverbs tend to have a very distinctive & pronounced sound and can break up easily. Some will consider this a downfall, while some (myself included) consider it to be a signature quality that can’t be easily replicated, if at all. This reverb does not have the same volume dulling effect that many modern reverb units & pedals have.
This unit has been upgraded by swapping out the “Mike”(Mic) input for a ¼” output. Footswitch jack added to the rear panel.
