Headway's Cherrywood Guitars Celebrate Their 10th Anniversary
Our cherry wood guitars began with a single ukulele made in 2014. The quality and sound of this wood is different from traditional imported woods, but Headway continues to use years of guitar making knowledge and craftsmanship to this day.
Ice Lake Gradation
Ice Lake Gradation" was chosen as the colour of the guitar to evoke the image of an icy lake.
The expression of a clear, pale blue colour that spreads out calmly like the surface of a lake in winter is the result of the skill of craftsmen who have painted many different colour schemes.
10th anniversary design
Crane' motif engraved on the head.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sakura Guitar, which has been well received by many users, the head is inlaid with a 'crane', a symbol of good luck. The crane is also a migratory bird, and we hope that this guitar will be loved not only in Japan, but all over the world.
Blooming cherry blossom inlay and Purple Heart material pickguard
One of the symbolic elements of the Sakura model is the cherry blossom inlay on the fingerboard, skilfully crafted from acrylic and wood. The pickguard is made of Purple Heart material, which matches the purple colour of the wood.
Body of Japanese Yamazakura wood
Yamazakura cherry trees collected in Japan are used for the side backs. It has a very hard character with a peak in the low mid-range, but also produces a sweet sound characteristic of cherry wood. The centre of the body is decorated with a purple heart stripe, the same material as the pickguard.
Anniversary logo to commemorate the 10th anniversary.
The back of the headstock is engraved with the anniversary logo, inspired by the 'Lady with a Japanese Umbrella' that symbolises Headway's Cherry Blossom models, and exclusive to the 10th Anniversary model.
34 Semi-forward bracing
Headway Master Builder Yasuo Momose studied the bracing of vintage 1934 guitars and developed his own bracing, which is semi-forward shifted with the X-cross position close to the soundhole, giving the guitar more bass response and volume than when new. By being 5mm closer to the bridge than the forward position, the design also takes into account the stability of the top board.
