It can go from transparent "always-on" light drive in one mode to a gnarly raw drive in the other.

If our Hawaiian Pizza is 30% drive and 70% fuzz, this is more like 85% drive, 15% fuzz. It’s a very straightforward circuit with a couple twists, and if someone were to say “is that all there is to it?” our reply would be “it was all that we needed.”
