It’s pretty rare for me to stock lefty basses, but this is not your average bass. I am having a blast playing this lightly reliced Fender Custom Shop Bass VI, the perfect hybrid between bass and guitar, with six strings tuned like a guitar, 62 Jaguar pickups and a short 30″ scale. Sounds terrific through a regular guitar amp, as well as a bass amp, and it is super fun to play.
Fender sez: “New for 2024, the Fender Custom Shop introduces the Bass VI —a meticulously crafted tribute to Fender’s six-string basses from the 1960s. A trio of Custom Shop ’62 Jaguar® pickups, vintage wiring and controls evokes the best of this cult-fan-favorite.
Other premium features include 2-piece select alder body, quartersawn maple neck with ’60-style Oval “C” back-shape, flat-laminated rosewood fingerboard, 9.5″ radius, 6105 frets, tortoise pickguard, vintage-style “floating” tremolo and bridge, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, wing string tree with tall metal spacer, deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
