SBC Guitars Cygnus 'Solar Nomad' 2024 - Semi hollow

Retro inspired, Omicron model guitar, built with solar power and hand tools.

The inspirations for this is retro sci-fi eastern bloc design and particularly Archigram, which was in itself a very science fiction inspired architectural movement that thought about the future of technology in architecture and often represented semi organic forms as structure, blending organic shapes with engineered precision.I've named this guitar "solar Nomad" as it is (almost) entirely built on my boat, just using solar power and hand tools. This guitar was built on the River Trent, the Soar, the Trent and Mersey Canal and the Stainforth and keadby Canal.

Keeping it green

As with all my builds, there is an emphasis on sustainability and material ethics. in addition to the green energy used in this build, this guitar also uses reclaimed wood. The body and headstock wood is reclaimed from an Elm sideboard. I use a lot of reclaimed wood, as well as being an ethical choice, they tend to be some of the best seasoned woods in my wood store, due to their age.

This guitar is basically in brand new condition but has been loaned and used for demonstrations, so may have some aesthetic wear. The price has been adjusted accordingly.
