Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...
A Vintage very RARE 1970 Harmony Made Sears Roebuck Model H1277 12 String Acoustic Guitar with original case. These guitars were only made from 1967 thru 1976..This one is identified as a 1970 from the model number stamped in the sound hole. I call the Sears Logo the Atomic Logo. Its actually just a clever S and R design for Sears and Roebuck. See pic 11.
Check out the cool ad by Sears for these guitars! Thanks to Silvertone World for this awesome print!
I like to think of this guitar as a giant Stella. Huge woody sound made for the Blues or Folk Song Strumming. I had our Tech do a New York Neck reset to bring the neck angle back to where it belongs, held in place with a bolt. See pic 13. He then set this one up with his magic touch for awesome low easy playing action. Its a really cool guitar. Comes with the shown original case and its ready to go.
Heres some info from the Silvertone World Website. They have great info! Check them out…
The 666 12-string was introduced back before the 'number of the beast' was such a big deal in the public's mind. Nowadays, it's kind of the kiss of death for your item to give it a model number starting with or containing '666,' much less have it be the entire number... well, unless it's a Megadeath album or something...
Anyhoo, it's odd that a 12-string guitar would get all 6's for its name anyway. It briefly became the 1225 when Sears unleashed the '12' prefixes in F/W '68, and then became the 1226 in F/W '69, and the 1227 in the spring of '70. By the time it was retired in 1976, Sears was making a point of the fact that it was built by Harmony.
Introduced:Fall/Winter 1967
Retired Fall/Winter 1976as the 1227

All original parts on this one .. It looks cool… Typical dings and scratches from being around for 50 years now...The bridge and all are original as are the Open back Waverly tuners … She's all together! The frets are hardly used and its in really good shape... We had to remove an old painting of Elvis that I just couldn't leave on it. LOL...you can just make out the shadow of it... see pic 3. The truss rod cover has a piece missing from it and the neck heel plate it mostly gone.
The guitar plays very nicely. Really well up to frets 7….like most of the 1960’s 12 strings. You won’t be playing any hot licks at the 12th fret on these. LOL… The guitar has a full 2 inch nut and a 25 inch scale neck. The neck is super flat with a 16 degree radius. You'll want a flat capo for it. The new ones are have too much radius. Sounds and plays great. We have it tuned to D for less string pressure. You'll love this cool historic 12 string guitar!
Check out the original Soft Shell Case.. All hinges and latches are operating and present. As you can see, we replaced the missing original handle. The accessory box is still with it. Cool case for your cool guitar..
Sold as-is no returns as its vintage and used.. thanks for respecting that.
