This rare Fender F-35 Made in Japan from 1977 is a great example! This model was made at a time when Fender was trying to compete with Martin acoustic guitars. The brand therefore decided to launch its F series in Japan (from 1971 to 78) in order to capitalise on the excellent guitar-making skills on the island at the time.
This model has all the characteristics of the Martin D18.
The top is made of spruce, the back, sides, neck and headstock of mahogany, the fingerboard and bridge of rosewood. The Fender logo made of coloured mother-of-pearl with inlays was designed by an artist.
The sound is very balanced, warm, with plenty of sustain. The 50 years in which the wood has aged and the quality of manufacture have certainly played their part. The instrument is very quick in the hand, it is a versatile, high-quality guitar. A special guitar that will enhance any collection due to its uniqueness.
I have owned this guitar since 1979 and it is like new. The tuning has lasted for 30 years, sensational, this crisp liveliness cannot be surpassed.
