Designed with breathtaking Master Grade Exceptional Figured Koa from our private wood locker at the Martin Custom Shop and finished in an exquisite Toasted Burst finish, we are proud to present our exclusive Martin Custom Shop D-41 model.

As one of only 24 Martin Custom Shop Expert Dealers worldwide, we have unfettered access to the Martin Custom Shop and their incredible world-renowned wood reserves. Empire Music Owner Joe Ravita has hand-selected these specific wood sets, and designed the instrument in conjunction with Martin Custom Shop Master Designer Jimmie Kleintop. The goal was to offer the finest sonic experience Martin has to offer with the highest quality wood sets on Earth.

Koa offers one of the most unique sonic experiences for guitarists.  The combination of breathy sweet tones matched with Martin’s ability to deliver a full bottom-end with plenty of warmth gives players the ability to deliver gorgeous tones while still keeping Martin’s trademark tone.  

Martin’s Master Grade “Exceptional Figured” Koa is some of the most sought after Koa in the world.  While it is certainly visually stunning, this koa is hand-selected to ensure it is the proper density with correct flexibility to deliver classic dreadnought tones.

If you have always wanted a Martin that will give you a unique sweetness while still offering classic bottom-end response, this instrument will be your holy grail!

The Dreadnought body style gives players excellent output while still maintaining an elegant tone.  Players will find the top to be very responsive to varying pick attack levels. The full bass response is met with a lively mids and a brisk top end that is crisp but not brittle.

To provide the most articulate tone while maintaining plenty of output, we have selected 5/16” scalloped bracing.  The slightly thicker bracing keeps the top sounding clean and the implementation of scalloping the bracing allows for enough flexibility of the top to get lots of volume.

The final step was dressing this incredible instrument in a Toasted Burst finish that sets off all of the classic D-41 cosmetic appointments.
