(NEW) This model has been kind of a sleeper hit for Collings over the last few years, and it's easy to see why: in most cases it gives us the same tonal satisfaction as its big brother the OM, but in a smaller package that seems to impress everyone that plays it.
This one has a torrefied ("baked") Sitka spruce top, a popular process that pre-ages the wood at the cellular level to give a dryer, more vintage quality to the voice. We've got all of the classic "Style 2" appointments including Indian rosewood back/sides, ivoroid body binding, herringbone top trim, short pattern diamond/square inlays. The mahogany neck is Collings' modified V profile, with 1 11/16" nut width, 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle and a short 24 7/8" scale length. The tuners are nickel Waverly. The figured ebony head cap has a bold stripe on the right side for a little visual flare. Includes hard case.
