This Hofner guitar was an unfinished factory 12 string when I got it. I can't play 12 strings so I had a blank slate to convert it to a 6 string thinking it would be over braced for strength and would sound great. So I proceeded to cut the headstock. Veneer the headstock with Mahogany and added new tuners . I can't remember what brand. Then I discovered why it was not finished at the factory. The neck had a back bow that was unplayable. So the fretboard was taken off and the neck was planned to a flat condition and the fretboard was reattached. The neck angle was high at this point so the saddle height is about . 375 high. So I routed the new rosewood bridge and made a 1/4" wide saddle so there won't be any issues with the saddle pulling forward . 25-3/8" scale. Intonation is good. Action at the twelfth fret is .120 with obviously room to go down. It plays great and sounds big. Even with the .010-.045 strings that are on it now. There is a ding in the lg. Bout. (See pics). 3 coats of satin lacquer. Solid player. Please ask any questions you may have.
