1988 Fender Custom Shop '57 Mary Kaye Stratocaster Masterbuilt electric guitar masterbuilt by renowned luthiers John Page and Mike Sevens - the neck by Michael Stevens and Richard Syarto, and the body by John Page. You can see an amazing photo of Fender's founding Master Builder, Michael Stevens, with this very guitar that he built! This was just provided to me by a friend of Michael Stevens who incredibly stumbled upon my listing here.

Featuring an exceptional flame maple neck and the first Custom Shop logo on the headstock, this guitar stands out from the production "Mary Kaye" spec Fenders.

Ordered in June 1987 with work order number 0018 and shipped in March 1988, it is one of the earliest Fender Custom Shop guitars ever made and the very first Fender Custom Shop guitar that was every built for the retail market. The few made before this example were built exclusively for Fender artists, so this is literally the first Fender Custom Shop guitar that was ever made available to the general public, marking a significant piece of Fender history. It has light lacquer crazing and a tiny ding consistent with its 36 years of age.
