You might remember (or were even here) when Guthrie Govan visited The Music Zoo back in 2011. During a conversation with Zoo owner Tommy Colletti, Guthrie mentioned that his first guitar he learned on was a Gibson SG, and he always loved the sound of a mahogany body. You might remember his early Suhr signature guitar at that time was built with a mahogany body and a natural finish as well!

<br><br>Fast forward to 2024, and when we got word that Fender had a stockpile of mahogany from an old factory that used to be in Kalamazoo (yes, that one), we wanted to make some magic happen with that mahogany. This wood is at least 50-70 years old, so if you do the math - you know that some pretty killer guitars were made using this mahogany in that city back in the day! The guitar retains all of the shred-tastic specs of the Guthrie model including stainless steel frets, custom-wound pickups, the recessed tremolo and luminlay dots and knobs...the works - all with the midrange honk and rawness of a mahogany body.
