Achieve the cool sound of the late '50s while enjoying a realistic playing feel with the Overloud Jensen Vintage Alnico P12R, an impulse response (IR) library made for the TH-U SuperCabinet (available separately). Brought about through collaboration with a product specialist from Jensen Speakers, these 1152 carefully captured IRs yield the P12R Alnico's signature tone—sparkling highs and a bottom end that breathes more than tighter speakers. Popular in early low-wattage combo amps from Ampeg, Epiphone, and Fender, the P12R Alnico was used in two open-back cabinets (1x12 and 2x12") for this library.

Detailed Source Capture This is a systematic capture of a Jensen P12R Alnico speaker from the Vintage series, installed in two different open-back cabinets (1x12 and 2x12") in both original and remastered versions. The 1152 total IRs were developed in conjunction with a Jensen Speakers product specialist, in order to recreate the most authentic playing experience, as if you were playing an original speaker. Ideal for Low-Power Combos The smallest powered Alnico 12" in the range, the P12R is the classic choice for the lower-powered combo amps of the tweed era. It was very common in many different Fender, Epiphone, and Ampeg amps until the early '60s. The P12R is bright and colorful, has a warm, almost loose bass range, excellent cut and sparkle in the top end, and breaks up easily. Designed for lightweight, floating baffle-style enclosures, the P12R has the iconic sound of the late '50s.
