This Roland MC-505 has some issues that need to be addressed, and is being sold as-is for repair. Only basic functionality has been tested.

Iconic drum machine from Roland! This unit has some issues unfortunately, and would majorly benefit from some repairs and care. The screen is not functioning right, and only lights up and shows a few dots. Some of the knobs are loose / off center. The resonance knob in particular is not functioning and after taking the unit apart, looks to have been de-soldered from the board. I noticed this knob, and the cutoff knob, can begin to free spin in certain positions. Other knobs / pots are also loose.

The unit shows a bit of cosmetic wear such as scratches and other blemishes. I would assume at minimum this will need some pots replaced, and the screen repaired. This unit has not been fully tested, and only tested for basic functionality and to turn on. The phones out, as well as mix L and R have been tested and do output.

I would love to take the project on myself and get this fixed up, but I unfortunately do not have the time.

There may be other issues I did not discover during my brief testing of this unit.

The cap for the "R" faded of the envelope is missing.

This unit is being sold as-is for repair. We do not make any guarantees on what this will need to be serviced. This has been well factored into the price, coming in at well under half of what we sell fully functioning Roland MC-505 units for, so we can not consider significant price reductions due to the condition. If you are nervous about condition, please refrain from purchase. If you are comfortable taking on the project, this could be a great deal for one of the most iconic drum machines ever made!
