Korg littleBits i35 delay

littleBits is an American company founded by Ayah Bdeir, a graduate of the MIT Media Lab who describes herself as an engineer and interactive artist. All littleBits feature magnets that connect one bit to the next and that complete the circuit, whether an audio one or a ‘control’ one like a sequencer. Modeled on the Korg MS-20 (and created in partnership with Korg), the synth modules really sound good, albeit they are presented in an unconventional format. The original synth kits, which contained 12 modules and a colorful manual, shipped in 2013. At this time, the kits are not widely available and I decided to sell my many modules individually so that you can customize and order the modules that you want. 

Note: if you see an R or recessed on my listings, it just refers to the top of the knobs – some are recessed and others are not. Just an aesthetic thing only. Also, I have been surprised at how many unique sounds you can achieve. They key is to experiment with placement of your modules and try things out. 

Tips:

·      It may be worth purchasing some littleBits mounting board to help keep your complex circuits in order.

·      If any of your bits aren't working, try resetting each bit (including speaker volume, delay settings, OSC pitch, etc.). This has worked for me in the past. 

·      The power bit is a bit annoying due to the weight of a 9V battery, so either buy an electrical adapter and avoid the battery or secure the 9 volt with tape or clamps to make your circuit more manageable.

The delay Bit takes incoming audio and repeats it, like an echo. Delays can be long and spacey, like shouting into the Grand Canyon, or loud and crazy.
