What is Conservatory System?

• Intermediate oboes are designed for the developing student and serious player. They often have a modified conservatory system, which means that they have all essential keywork , i.e. left F, low Bb, B natural-C# articulation, and F resonance, but may be missing some keywork, such as the split E and 3rd octave

Made from ABS resin for enhanced durability

• Jupiter constructed this oboe from robust matte ABS resin. Unlike wood, ABS resin is impervious to damage associated with fluctuating temperatures and humidity changes, while also being resilient against normal wear and tear. Yet, ABS resin has a look and sound reminiscent of wood, with a full-bodied tone and a pleasing top end

Modified conservatory system with silver-plated keys

• Generally speaking, beginner oboes are equipped with simplified key systems, designed to allow young players to master basic fingering techniques without becoming confused by too many keys.
