What we have today is an EML 500 Synthesizer.  In the late seventies, there were a few different US based synthesizers.  You all know about Moogs, Arps, EMS, Oberheims and all of the Japanese models, but EML made unique and idiosyncratic designs.

This is their 500 model, designed as a competitor for the Minimoog/Micromoog and the Arp Odyssey. In its case, it didn’t make much a ripple in the pond, but some guys from Akron liked it.  Devo had a EML500 in their studio, and that should tell you all you need to know about this guy.

These are extremely rare. It is probably a Good instrument, but for this model, there aren’t a lot of choices.

Gearzley is a retail of the superb and unusual. We have more than 30 years of experience supporting high quality musical equipment for some of the best bands you have never heard of. Thanks for looking…
