Few names make saturation obsessed bass players take note like Fuzzrocious Pedals founder Ryan Ratajski, so when MXR brought the bass clipping guru in on the M85 Bass Distortion design, we knew they'd arrived at an instant hit. The M85 offers you two totally different styles of distortion based on the clipping circuit. The SIL setting uses a silicone diode, providing an aggressive, in-your-face sound with a touch of compression.

The LED-based setting is a bit more open and wooly, with plenty of gain to give you amp a push. You can adjust the wet/dry mix with a pair of level controls, but you'll be surprised by how little dry signal you need to preserve your fundamental, thanks to the M85's unique design. And if you need to roll off some highs, the tone control works minor miracles.
