Living near Nashville has its perks. We’re not far from the Gibson factory and Custom Shop (about 25 mins), which means I frequently see boxes of authentic Gibson parts walk through the door. A lot of people who work at Gibson live in my county, and thus, I have a lot of regulars that either work for, or have worked for Gibson. A recent haul from a storage auction included several samples, templates, and new old stock parts from the 1950s through the 1990s.

This is one is the pickguard from a Gibson Custom Shop Super 4000 from the early 1990s. This one has been hand-signed in silver ink by Chet Atkins himself; and it probably the coolest thing that was in the box. I have 3-4 of them, and they were all hand signed in different inks.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime find. I decided to hold on to one for myself, so when the others are gone; there will probably never be more.

A must-have for the Gibson or Chet aficiondo!
