We made this one better!
A whole lotta love went into this pedal. This DM4 comes complete with our Ultimate Expression Mod. Check out the two added switches and LEDs there at the top of the pedal.
The extra switch and LED on the upper left is for the Double Presets mod. Just like the name implies, this mod gives you double the amount of presets. That means you can have up to eight customized effects right there at your ... toe tips! You can have two pre-selected, customized distortion effects from each category on each switch.

And then there is the added switch and LED on the upper right for the expression pedal/knob which has also been added to this pedal. You won't need to find extra space for an expression pedal, this one is built in! You can use your foot to scroll from one extreme to the next, or anywhere in between. So you don't have to stop playing and reach down to turn knobs...you can change it on the fly. How cool is that?

We also did a complete switch upgrade on this pedal. (See picture #2) The stock switches on Line 6 pedals are put together in pieces. You can see that the one on the left has a spring that bumps up against a memory switch. Lots of musicians report having trouble sooner or later with these switches. You just don’t need to be playing live and lose your effect, or have to step on the switches an extra time or two. We removed those cheap spring loaded suckers, and hard wired in heavy duty Momentary SPST “Soft Touch” switches (as seen on the right). These are nice! They are super quiet, no malfunctions, and built to last.

We also did an LED upgrade. These are all bright water/clear LEDs. The lenses are clear when they are switched off. When switched on, the two at the top are 5mm blue. The four at the bottom are 3mm blue. These bright blue LEDs are great for a dimly lit stage. Also as some of you already know, bright LEDs are crucial for outdoor gigs.
These mods make a great pedal even better!
 
This pedal ships with a Line 6 power adapter (retail $36.95)!  
Be sure to use the Line 6 adapter. On the back of the DM4 and other Line 6 pedals it states clearly that this pedal requires a minimum of 1200mA. Some folks have found other ways to power a Line 6 pedal with less than the recommended power. But there are two very good reasons to use the Line 6 adapter:
1) The LEDs up top will not work without the minimum power requirement.
2) This adapter supplies the recommended power, and also filters the power to extend the life of your pedal.
