About This Listing

Washburn - Rick Savage's, Def Leppard XB925 "George's Cross"5-String Bass

Def Leppard is HUGE!!. The band began in 1976 as a teenage garage band from Sheffield, England.  Over 100 million albums later the band is still going strong, selling out stadiums all over the planet. The band is one of few artists to earn an RIAA Diamond Award for 10 million albums sold. TWICE!!

We’re so thrilled to present the Def Leppard collection!! The collection includes hundreds of stage and tour used items from each member of Def Leppard. This massive collection includes items from every era of the band's 5 decade career.

Here’s an amazing opportunity to own a truly unique collection of Def Leppard history.

This impressive collection of Rick's tour ephemera is built around his iconic St. George's Cross Washburn XB925 5 string bass. The collection includes tour gifts, band signed items and memorabilia collected while touring with Def Leppard.

Rick Savage played this bass with Def Leppard from 1996-2009. That's over a quarter of the bands entire 47 year history! This bass is one of the most iconic pieces in the entire Def Leppard collection. This is one of two nearly identical St. George's Cross Washburns we received from Def Leppard. It's easy to tell them apart. This bass has a white headstock with a Red Cross. The other one has a natural maple headstock with no Red Cross. The other bass will be listed in the near future.

This bass shows signs of use but remains in excellent condition. Everything works as intended.

The custom St. George's Cross XB925 was one of Rick Savage's "go-to" basses and was played in virtually every show from this period. It can be seen in countless live photos and videos from this era.

The bass is identified by a "Property Of Def Leppard" ID tag. It includes a hardshell case and COA signed by Ric Savage.

Serial Number: 0010016 (Note: Serial number is stamped into headstock. The first few digits are difficult to read).
