Nobels made four types of stomp boxes in this series: an overdrive, distortion, AB box and a preamp. Many photos of the PRE-1 can be found online with the Nobels branding, but I have not been able to locate one photo or even mention of a Series 10 branded box. I have only found one other picture/reference to a Series 10 branded Nobel and it was a distortion unit that is sold out; that buyer got it for a steal and they may not even know what they have. Based on my research, this is the only Series 10 branded Nobel pedal on the market, so I’m guessing even at this price, it will sell fast—don’t let this opportunity slip away.

This pedal is in excellent condition—as seen in pictures 8-11, there are a few minor paint chips around the battery compartment and some light marks on the back corners and on the rear, right side. Otherwise, this is a clean, quiet pedal in great working order. Only the pedal is included; it does not come with the original box/packaging or a power supply.

This flexible preamplifier can be used to boost the volume of an instrument when playing solo parts or to match piezo pickups to regular amplifier inputs. Because of the low impedance output signal it is possible to drive tube amplifier inputs with the PRE-1.

Background:
Series 10 was a budget brand of guitars produced by St. Louis Music Supply Co. throughout the 80’s into the early 90’s. How they ended up affiliated with the German Nobels company is unknown, but nevertheless this is a rare find and a rarer opportunity for the collector who has everything…except this.
