I bought this from the original owner around 2005. He purchased it at the 1981 NAMM show that was introducing this as a new model. He was not a musician and kept it in a closet for 25 years and let his friends play it when they came over. It had the original strings and original battery when I got it. The battery had leaked and caused minor damage. In 2010 I sent this back to New Hartford, CT to have it checked out and set up. I kept this for its collector value, not a gigging instrument. In the time I have owned it I have played it maybe 20 hours, if that. It is my wife's favorite guitar, which is why I have had it so long, but now I have too many guitars and the wife says I can let it go. It is in perfect condition. No dings, chips, damage, or repairs. There is no perceivable fret or fretboard wear. Ovation calls this Red, but it looks like brown to me. The case has a few scratches, but no cracks or damage.
