With the Cort Gold-Edge, playing acoustic guitar has never been more comfortable. Combining world-class tonality with a focus on ergonomics and playability, Gold-Edge delivers a premium playing experience with a just right feel.

Features:

Aged Top for Truly Vintage Tone

The Aged-to-Vintage solid spruce top imbues the Gold-Edge with the big, open tone that vintage acoustic guitars are prized for. Between its lively dynamic response and harmonically complex tone, Gold-Edge sings with a rich voice whether you’re strumming, picking, or playing fingerstyle.

Tonewoods with Museum-quality Figuring

The solid spruce top allows the Gold-Edge a fantastically detailed voice, projecting the nuances of your technique with clarity and balance. The gorgeously figured AAA flame maple and back sides provide the low-mid richness of woods such as mahogany and rosewood while creating the captivating visual effect only flame maple can provide.

Concert Body Shape Re-defines How Big a Small Guitar Can Sound

Inspired by the player-favorite Grand Concert body shape, the Modern Concert body shape gives the Gold-Edge a comfortably compact feel without sacrificing sonic complexity. With a richer, more robust tone than you’d expect from a smaller body, the Cort Gold-Edge redefines how a smaller-bodied guitar can sound.

World Class Electronics for Sweet Acoustic Tone

To accurately represent its rich acoustic tone when plugged in, the Gold Edge is equipped with L.R. Baggs Anthem electronics. By combining a miniature microphone with a traditional acoustic-electric pickup, the Anthem system gives you studio-quality acoustic tine wherever you plug in.

Sonically Enhanced UV Finish for Truer Tone

The Gold-Edge’s UV finish is thinner than standard poly or nitro finishes, allowing the wood the vibrate and breathe more naturally. And the process also reduces the amount of chemical interaction between the finish and the wood, which is ideal for your instrument’s longevity.

Aged to Vintage Top

A vintage instrument is the holy grail of acoustic guitar tone. The wood on the top cures and opens up more over time. This unleashes a tonal quality that is missing in new instruments – until now. Using a special process we call ATV (Aged To Vintage), we treat the solid Sitka spruce top to give it that big and open tone of a decades-old, highly sought-after acoustic. This torrefaction process delivers that amazing tone to you right out of the box.

Smoothed Edges for That “Just-right” Feel

Whether you’re playing seated or standing, the Gold Edge’s hand-rolled fret and body edges deliver an amazingly comfortable playing experience. While the hand-rolling process is complex and time-consuming, it gives the Gold Edge the smooth and effortless feel you need to truly express yourself.

Walnut Reinforced Neck

The neck on the Gold has been reinforced for added rigidity and stability using two special inserts. This is constructed with two pieces of walnut installed to add stability while still retaining the natural properties of wood to further upgrade the Gold.

Neck Profile

Cort's neck thickness graduation from the headstock to the heel is optimized to increase comfort in your hands and optimize playability. To assure consistency, Cort uses state-of-the-art CNC machines to accurately mill each and every neck. Each neck is then carefully sanded and finished by skilled craftsmen.

Ebony Fingerboard

There are many types of woods that are used for fingerboard but no other compares to the jet-black beauty and slick smoothness of Ebony.

Ebony Bridge Pins

The high density of Ebony wood keeps the fundamental acoustic sound focused and tight with greater sonic projection than plastic, enhancing the transfer of the string vibrations throughout the soundboard top, body, and the neck.
