E-mu Proteus 2 early 90's 16 bit Polyphonic Orchestral Sound Module

E-mu Proteus 2 9012 early 90’s single rack, 16 bit, polyphonic, orchestral, sound module. Made in USA. 

We took in this and a Proteus 1 XR just recently from a busy studio. If you’re interested in the pair, please let us know and we’ll figure out a bundle deal. 

This Proteus 2 was the dedicated orchestral module and does that job incredibly well. If there’s a downside to it, it would be that the sounds, due to their quality, are now very familiar and might be considered by some, dated. The Proteus featured 4Mb RAM, 16-part MIDI multitimbrality, 32-voice polyphony, 16-bit samples, six individual polyphonic outputs and a whole range of editing and modulation capabilities. 

This one has the usual studio gunk for such an old piece, but it works just exactly as it should with no further issues other than cosmetic. 

A cheap, authentic way to pull something retro into your writing, production, or performance.
