Asturias A18-11 11 String Altoguitar Alto Guitar

For sale, an unusual and rare guitar from the craftsman at Asturias!

This 11 string guitar is based on the designs originated by Swedish luthier Georg Bolin, initially developed for playing lute music. However, this extended range can be used for any style of music.

The standard tuning, although it can be altered to suit the situation:

1 - G
2 - D
3 - Bb
4 - F
5 - C
6 - G
7 - F
8 - Eb
9 - D
10 - C
11 - Bb

It can be viewed as a terz/alto guitar tuning on the top six strings, up a minor third from a standard guitar tuning, with the bottom five strings a descending Bb scale from F.

The guitar is constructed from all solid woods with a spruce top, rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard, and mahogany neck.

Beautiful tone quality, and easy playability. Other than the added range, the additional strings provide a very nice chorus of sympathetic vibrations that adds a thicker dimension to the sound.

In overall very good clean condition, with only slight honest wear; some play wear and marks here and there in the top, and a slight haze can be detected in bright light at from certain angles in some areas of the back, nothing that is easily discernible.

Also important for unique guitars as this one, it comes with a fitted case!
