From the Martin Historians - “This definitely looks like a mid-1840s -early 1850s Martin. The faux Spanish foot and nickel silver nut were features of some Martins at this time. This might be the earliest guitar I’ve seen with a 5-9-5 rosette that later would become standard on Style 28 guitars.”
This Guitar Belongs in a Museum or private collection. It is an extremely rare CF Martin Guitar Made in New York. One of the first examples around with a 5-9-5 rosette and intricate detailing on the back of the guitar. It also comes with its original hard shell wooden case.
This guitar appears to have had a rib crack repair at some point in its 170 years of life.
Dont miss out on your chance to own a unique piece of history.
