I have had this guitar for a few years now and its time to find a new owner. It’s a wonderful guitar and I have thoroughly enjoyed owning it.
The serial number dates its from1970-1973. We got 1973 date codes from the pots Work was done under the hood. See pic 5.
Here’s some info on the Les Paul Deluxe Guitars…
Starting in 1969, Gibson's main production Les Paul was dubbed the Les Paul Deluxe. The Les Paul Deluxe differed from the original Standard in its use of mini-humbuckers instead of PAFs, and its use of the four-ply "pancake" body style. The Les Paul Standard was not actually brought back to the Gibson catalog until 1976.
I have used all of Gibson’s pickup selections. The Humbuckers, P90’s and the mini humbuckers. I have to say, I really love the mini humbuckers. They are super toneful and very powerful. I didn’t have any history with them before this guitar. I am sold on these cool pickups now!
The guitar is a Les Paul thru and thru with the exception of the mini humbuckers. Awesome 24 ½ inch scale neck with a standard 1 11/16 inch nut. The neck has a nice medium C profile and feels great in the hand. The guitar has very minor dings and scratches. Most notable on the back. See pics 17 and 18 .. Probably from some live shows before I got it. The original frets are in great shape and its all original as far as we can tell. It may have had some fret work done... see pics 8 and 9... There is what looks like a crack on the headstock face... it probably took a good bump. It didn't go all the way thru the back so its a crack, not a break...see pics 12 and 13 ... The guitar weighs in at 9 lbs 5 ozs. Not the heaviest Les Paul we have had. Love the Gold top. It hasn’t started to green yet, but looks close in a few areas …
Check out the original Hard Shell case! As nice as the guitar. All latches, hinges, accessory box and handle are still with it. Awesome case and its original to the guitar!
