Beautiful Fender Corona Custom Shop 1962 reissue Jazz Bass. a pair of hand-wound Custom Shop Jazz Bass pickups Powers through any mix with ease. This is the most beautiful bass I've ever seen., The wood grain is incredible.  The two-piece alder body—with a Closet Classic nitrocellulose lacquer finish—is hand-selected for its light weight and strong grain, as is the tinted quartersawn maple neck with a vintage-accurate ‘60's C-shaped profile. This is a really nice axe! Original tweed Fender hard shell case. Factory light-relic, minimal play wear. Case has blemishes but is in great shape. Can be both smooth and punchy and rings well with excellent sustain. The Fender Custom Shop is a division of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, housed within their headquarters complex in Corona, Riverside County, California. The Fender Custom Shop produces special-order guitars (like this Lake Placid Blue Jazz Bass) for customers through a Custom Shop dealer network. They create limited edition high end quality guitars and basses. The primary intent of the Fender Custom Shop was to create instruments in the tradition of Leo Fender and his staff at the original Fender facilities in Fullerton, CA, accommodating famous endorsers and other discerning players who wanted the accuracy, detail, and quality—as well as customization and personal touches. If the Precision was a Chevy, the new deluxe model would be a Ferrari. Leo Fender himself said so. In a Guitar Player magazine interview years later, he said, “Well, it’s like a car, you know—you come out with a standard model, then you have a deluxe model—a Cadillac version.” Once again, Leo built it and, once again, Fender Sales chief Don Randall named it. That model, the Fender Jazz Bass guitar, was introduced in 1960. Paul McCartney is known to have played a left-handed Jazz Bass on The Beatles (the “White Album”), and Yes-man Chris Squire included one in his arsenal. Other famous Jazz Bass aficionados include Geddy Lee, Jaco Pastorius, Adam Clayton, Noel Redding, Flea, Akiyama Mio, Jack Casady, Larry Graham, Greg Lake, John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Joe Osborn (The Wrecking Crew), Sting (Police), Ron Blair (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), Verdine White (Earth, Wind & Fire) and Marcus Miller... I could go on all day. This is a great sounding axe. The Jazz Bass sound appeared on more #1 hits than I could fathom. 9lb 5oz approx on my scale. Excellent condition although lightly reliced (aged) by custom shop. Shipping only to verified paypal address and only to lower 48. No returns. Pay by Paypal only.
