This is the most beautiful bass I've ever seen., The wood grain is incredible.  The two-piece alder body—with a Closet Classic nitrocellulose lacquer finish—is hand-selected for its light weight and strong grain, as is the tinted quartersawn maple neck with a vintage-accurate ‘60's C-shaped profile. This is a really nice axe! Original tweed Fender hard shell case. Factory light-relic, minimal play wear. Case has blemishes but is in great shape. Can be both smooth and punchy and rings well with excellent sustain. The primary intent of the Fender Custom Shop was to create instruments in the tradition of Leo Fender and his staff at the original Fender facilities in Fullerton, CA, accommodating famous endorsers and other discerning players who wanted the accuracy, detail, and quality—as well as customization and personal touches. If the Precision was a Chevy, the new deluxe model would be a Ferrari. Leo Fender himself said so. In a Guitar Player magazine interview years later, he said, “Well, it’s like a car, you know—you come out with a standard model, then you have a deluxe model—a Cadillac version.” Once again, Leo built it and, once again, Fender Sales chief Don Randall named it. That model, the Fender Jazz Bass guitar, was introduced in 1960.
